BRIEF:

At the start of this project I found inspiration in human anatomy. It was a topic that I had previously explored in high school but it was never fully realized. I started pulling reference images from various artists, designers, and scientists that had all done a study of the body in different ways. I created word maps, flow charts, and moodboards to better understand my ideas and associations.

I then sourced this beautiful bone colored rubberized suede that provided me with the right weight and strength to create something structural. With this project, I wanted to challenge myself technically and pattern something that had a sculptural element as well as numerous intricate details.
